DSCF9430We currently offer Day Tours into the Vilanculos Coastal and Wildlife Reserve just 18km from Vilanculos Town on the San Sebastian Peninsular in the Bazaruto Archipelago Mozambique. The reserve is 36 000 hectares and is a fantastic Bush & Beach mixture of Miombo woodland, Fresh water lakes, Estuary's, Red, Black and White Mangrove forest and amazing white sandy beaches. There are about 33 species of mammal in the reserve including Eland, Sable, Zebra, Nyala, Crocodile, Kudu, Giraffe, Wildebeest, Oribi, Red Duiker, Grey Duiker, Steenbok, Reedbuck, Bushbuck, Suni, Bush Pigs, Vervet Monkey and Yellow Baboon. There are also the Aquatic animals Including Dolphins, Turtles and the very rare Dugong. The reserve also has over 300 species of birds including Flamingos, Great White Pelican, Crab plovers, Olive Bee-Eaters, Narina Trogons, Black-Bellied Korans and lots more. The Reserve also has about 500 plant species Including Msasa, Monondo, Acacia and Albizia trees. You are not guaranteed to see all these animals it's not a zoo or safari park.

The basic Itinerary

A taxi will be sent for you wherever you are staying in Vilanculos and will take you to the transfer boat. The boat departs Vilanculos normally around 6 am in the morning. It is usually a 30 min boat ride over to the San Sebastian Peninsular where we arrive at Dugong Beach Lodge, From here we set off on our +- 3 hr Game drive and Bush walk around the reserve, we then get back to Dugong Lodge for lunch where you can enjoy the afternoon Snorkeling or Swimming on the beach. We then return back to Vilanculos around 15:00 pm where a taxi will take you back from the transfer boat to wherever you are staying.

Sun Cream, Sun Hats, Walking Shoes, Binoculars, Camera, Sun glasses and Swimsuit.
